Character Relationships
Annie is still the light in Finnick's world. She just recently left and came back with no memories of being in Asgard before. This time she feels more fragile than ever, and Finnick will do anything he can to protect her. Since she knows that he doesn't live past going to the capitol, Finnick is trying to make the most of his time with his wife. He worries for her because Asgard isn't exactly the safest place for her, but because she is there he is able to relax and have that pillar of support he was missing when he left. No one knows all his secrets except for Annie. |
Katniss has gone from little sister to something much more precious in Finnick's eyes. She lost herself for a while, and that worried him, but she's back now. When Peeta and Annie were no longer in Asgard, both of them had to keep each other together and try not to fall apart because Rue was counting on them. They made it through the worst of their depressions together, so Finnick considers Katniss the closest person to him aside from Annie. He sees her turning into a woman as they live in Asgard, and he hopes desperately that he will be able to stick around and watch her relationship with Peeta bloom. |
Depsite not really having a connection with Gale in Panem, Finnick and Gale became fast friends in Asgard. Being that at one point both men were the only ones there to take care of Katniss, Annie, and Rue together, Finnick generally enjoys being around Gale. He thinks the other is taking things hard when it comes to Katniss and Peeta's relationship, so much that he moved out, but Finnick is going to start trying really hard to get him home again. |
It is the first time that Peeta has been truly around that Finnick can talk with him. He remembers telling him about his freak out later and when he tried to kill Katniss back in District 13. They've always had a good relationship and Finnick wants to get to know him a little better since they live in the same house and have a chance to get even closer than they were in Panem. Finnick is also glad he doesn't have to play the real or not real game with him, at least that he's seen so far. |
Rue is almost like a daughter to Finnick. He's fiercely protective over her and feels a deep connection with her after meeting her. Rue has made Finnick ground himself and work towards keeping himself together instead of falling to pieces, especially if something is wrong with Katniss or Annie. She has been there and was the main drive to keep Finnick alert when Annie left from Asgard. Recently he has decided that he wants to teach her how to dance, since she danced with him on his feet as the most recent masquerade. He wants her to have the childhood she was never able to have back in Panem. |
Arthur is still one of Finnick's favorite people to mess with and play around with. He sees the young Pendragon as a person that he can definitely trust, and he enjoys being around him. Arthur stays very busy and Finnick admires that he is able to continuously go, go, go! However, he also worries that Arthur is trying too hard sometimes, and he wants the other to enjoy things that he may not otherwise have had a chance to enjoy in his own world. He also thinks that he and Merlin are involved, and enjoys taking the time to tease him about that as well. All in all Arthur is going to have to live with the fact that he is stuck with Finnick for a friend. |
Finnick is not sure how he missed Merlin when he arrived, but he did. However, as soon as he became close with Arthur, Merlin came into the picture as well. Merlin is just a good common guy, who is really helpful and goofey. Finnick admires his drive and his optimism and enjoys teasing him because of their world differences. Like probably half of Asgard, Finnick is under the impression that Arthur and Merlin are boyfriends, so he enjoys poking fun at them both, but particularly Merlin. However, when push comes to shove, Finnick is ready to defend the mage if necessary and has sort of adopted him as one of his own. He enjoys the carefree nature that Merlin has most times, but thinks sometimes he is way to innocent or curious for his own good. This is probably the only part of him that causes Finnick to worry more than normal. |
Morgana is still someone that Finnick holds in high regards. He has come to care for her so much that when she has a hard time he feels like he needs to be there to help her out. Everyone has a side of them that they show and keep locked up, and Finnick has found that in Morgana somewhat in the way that she quarrels with Arthur, and also just her whole demeanor change. That doesn't make her any less precious of a friend and still someone that he knows if he needed help with Annie, would help him out unconditionally. Finnick looks forward to when they get to talk, and enjoyed being able to dance with her at the masquerade. |
Morgana's kid. Finnick seems to catch Mordred in the oddest of situations, and he finds that the young man is very odd. However, that doesn't stop him from trying to get Rue and Mordred out to play like normal kids should. He enjoys answering Mordred's questions and thinks that the young boy is pretty wise for his age. He doesn't know if that's specific to Mordred or if all kids in Arthur and Morgana's world are like that. Finnick also worries a lot when he sees Mordred without a grown up (he keeps finding him that way) and so when that happens he feels as if he has to stick around and worry over him until he can get Mordred back to Morgana. |
At first Uther just seemed different from other people, but Finnick did not come to expect to gain a father when he met Uther. The other has constantly looked out for him, checked up on him, and done things that he has never really had from an elder male. Finnick enjoys finding Uther and teasing him, but he respects him very much and has a very deep affection for him. While he knows that there are things that go on between Uther, Arthur, Merlin and Morgana, Finnick keeps himself separate and enjoys Uther's company when he has it. The other has proven to be a person he didn't realize he needed in his life until they got to know each other better. |
Drinking Buddy. Finnick just loves Gwaine's enthusiasm for whatever he is doing at that precise moment. He didn't realize that people from Arthur's world would grow on him so much. Gwaine is someone that Finnick knows is down for any shennanigans or good time plans that can be made up. If anything Finnick keeps him in mind as a potential partner in crime, saving that knowledge for a day when he can use that to it's maximum potential. They may not talk a lot, but when they do they have a ridiculously good time, and Finnick loves that. |
Allison is one of Finnick's favorite people. There aren't many people that remind him of his wife, but she does and it calms him down sometimes. He enjoys talking to her, and just connecting with her over all. He knows each time they talk is going to be a long conversation because they normally cover a range of topics and interests they both have. She is one of the few girls he doesn't outright flirt with, because she is just too much like Annie for him to be comfortable with. She always keeps him updated on herself and Scott which Finnick appreciates, since they seem to have a lot going on. |
Finnick loves Scott. Plain and simple. He's a good kid, who is responsible and does what he can to help others. That doesn't stop him from worrying about the other since Scott seems to have penchant for getting into trouble or being pulled into the commotion. This makes Finnick worry a little more than he should, but he knows that Scott can take care of himself. He will always enjoy remembering when Scott got married to Stiles and all the shenangians that Scott has been involved in. Keep on keepin' on bro. |
Stiles is a troubled kid, at least that's what Finnick thinks. He never seems to be happy, and seems to be touchy when Finnick says certain things to him. However, Stiles gives the best reactions to Finnick's flirtation despite the fact that Finnick is joking. However, there is something about him that makes Finnick feel bad for him though he can't quite place his finger on it yet. Stiles reminds him of people that he trained for the hunger games, so that may be where the source of all the leeway he gets from Finnick in regards to his attitude. Though, slowly but surely he's starting to develop affection for Stiles in a purely platonic way. |
The ultimate boss of grumpiness. Finnick doesn't really get why Derek acts like he does, only that here has to be a reason for it. He doesn't really have anything against Derek, but he is also not looking for reasons to get on his bad side either. While he feels that Derek could probably give a good fight, Finnick is more interested in getting to know him and seeing why Derek is just so grumpy. Not even Katniss is that grumpy man, geeze, chill out and live a little. |
Even though Erica is relatively new to Finnick, she sticks out as the person that was the quickest ever to tell him "I have a boyfriend." This caught him off guard and made him like her even more. He enjoyed their time together at the masquerade, and he is looking forward to really getting to know her. After all, that's what Asgard is about, right? Also, he thinks she would be a good person for Annie to be around. |
Isaac seems to come in and out of Finnick's life in Asgard quite unexpectedly. He's caught him in several situations and still isn't sure what to think of him over all, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like Isaac. It just means that it will take a little while longer for him to figure out how he feels about him. Their talking and browsing over food at the masquerade really helped him to get a favorable impression of Isaac. From now on he's going to be looking out for the other to make sure that he continues to strengthen the slowly developing friendship that seems to be kindling at this point. |
Akihiko and Finnick became fast friends when they met. Finnick admires his positive attitude and his spirit to help others. In that way he really sees himself in Akihiko, but the extra drive that the fighter puts in impresses Finnick. However, Finnick enjoys getting close and teasing him because, like Stiles, Akihiko gives off the kind of reactions that make Finnick want to continue to tease him and flirt with him. Akihiko also has a penchant for asking hard hitting questions whether he knows it or not that spur Finnick to take another look at himself and re-evaluate the way he has been doing things up until now. |
Ryoji happened to catch Finnick's eye in Vanaheim and from then on Finnick has looked out for him. He really enjoys talking to Ryoji, and is happy that there is someone that understands how much he loves Annie. He thinks the other is cute, and loves to tease him since he always opens himself up to it. Finnick knows the other just recently learned he was dead, and that makes him nervous that he will start to be treated differently. However, he s going to do what he can to ensure that he and Ryoji's friendship stays relatively normal. |
Kawrou is an odd duck. Finnick isn't sure where he came from or what type of environment Kawrou is from, but he doesn't like wherever that place is. The kid seemsd almost like a male Annie at times, asking weird questions or seeming to just be in his own head much of the time. It's something that Finnick wishes he could stop from happening to anyone because it just seems so lonely. He wants Kawrou to have a chance at a semi normal life, but he's not sure his normal is what is best for Kawrou so he hesistates in giving his opinion or pushing the other to do something else. He's handling Kawrou with kid gloves until he gets to know him better. |
If Finnick had to describe Shinji, it's almost as if he's looking at a small kicked puppy. Finnick doesn't understand who could be mean to this kid, or what could have happened to him to give him such a timid demeanor, but he doesn't like it. He exercises extreme patience and forethought most of the time before talking to Shinji in order to try and build a stable friendship with him. Finnick feels responsible for those younger than him most of the time, but that goes triple when Shinji is involved. He met him from when the Ice Giants attacked and has ever since sought him out in order to make sure he's doing all right. Even if he didn't get his name until the masquerade, Finnick tried to keep tabs on him for a while, eventually hoping that they would run into each other again so he could catch his name. Now he'll be watching him even more closely. |
Even though they just met recently, Finnck thinks that Alice is adorable. He is slightly disturbed that the gods would pull someone so young into a war, but he really can't say anything with Rue being there as well. If anything he's curious about why she is there since everyone else seems to have been brought there for a reason, and she makes him want to help out with the school a little more. He can't wait to actually get to know her better though since she would probably make a good friend for Rue. |
Finnick met Fred while making his rounds at the masquerade. Although he had just been having fun, she was able to strike him where it counts in asking some tough questions of him. However, that only made him want to talk with her more, especially when she told him that it wasn't right for others to take advantage of him. He hasn't found someone that honest or innocent since he met Annie, so it's like a breath of fresh air to him. He wants to get to know her better and hopefully introduce her to Annie when the time is right. He thinks they would be fast friends! |
Another person that Finnick recently met at the masquerade. Being used to having women lighten up around him, it was odd for Finnick to find one that had her walls up even at a party. After getting to talk to Elecktra however he has a feeling that they could become friends. She seems to have had it rough, and who doesn't need a friend if they've been through a hard time? Finnick would like to be friends with her and learn more about her by getting her to bring down her walls a little bit more. |
Blaine is someone Finnick runs into on occasion. He has a lot of fun teasing and talking with Blaine because the other is so innocent and open. He enjoys just having others to talk to and Blaine entertains that part of Finnick. He thinks that Blaine is a teddy bear, though they haven't really spoken in a while he wants to talk to him more and get back to where they previously were when they talked. He wants to learn more about the younger man and see what he is all about. |
Harry Potter is an interesting person to Finnick. The first time they met on the network, Harry had asked a bunch of questions and Finnick had been wanting to help out, so he tried to answer them. He noticed that Harry was a good kid although he comes off a bit too serious for Finnick's tastes. This is something that he would love to help the other with since Finnick is such a kid at heart himself. Again, he doesn't know the type of world Harry is coming from and can't really give advice because he doesn't know what the other has been through to ask so many questions like he does. However, Finnick does eventually want to get to know him better and help him when needed. |
Lily Potter is just adorable. Finnick has yet to make the connection between her and Harry, but that would hardly do anything to sway how fond he is of Lily. Having met her at the masquerade and enjoyed her vibrant personality, Finnick eventually wants to get to know her better. However, with Annie's arrival it has been harder for him to continue to keep up with people. He does think about her from time to time, and will eventually try and reach out to her if she does not reach out first! |
Snape is a grumpy butt, plain and simple. Honestly, Finnick isn't sure what to think of him other than the fact that the first time they met Snape was a little tipsy. With that in mind and his charming nature, Snape comes off more like Haymitch than Finnick would like to be reminded of. While he has words that can hurt people, Snape seems to try and do things for the good of others so Finnick wants to be able to give him help. After all, with Snape's stunning personality, he wants to make sure that Snape has the connections to make his school thrive. Eventually Finnick will try and reach out to Snape on a personal level, but if he is anything like Haymitch, Finnick knows he needs to prove himself first. |
Dirk has to be one of the coolest people Finnick has run into outside of his world. Seeing someone keep a level head in a crisis is always appreciated in his book, and that was how they met. Finnick has a very high opinion of Dirk, and enjoys seeing what shenanigans the other gets into. The most recent one involved him getting stuck in a tree, and that is something that Finnick is never going to let him live down, but other than that Finnick knows that if he needs someone not of their world to watch his back, he would go to Dirk. It's an easy friendship between them, so Finnick likes having him around. He also thinks that Annie will like Dirk just as much as he does and is anxious for them to meet. |
Though he hasn't talked to Dave much, Finnick has had his run ins with Dave on the network. Each and every time he wondered exactly what was going on in Dave's mind, but he doesn't mind that so much due to how his own wife acts. Dave is someone that Finnick thinks would be fun to hang out with eventually, but he isn't quite sure if the other wants to hang out. So, for now Finnick has resigned himself to just looking for Dave and watching his mannerisms. Finnick is hard pressed to figure out what to actually do with him otherwise. |
Finnick hasn't talked to him much, but knows he's some how related to Dirk and Dave. However, he's decided to try and get closer with these quirky people. For Finnick to recognize Davesprite as quirky despite all he's done and seen is something special. He knows if there are any shennanigans to be had that most likely Davesprite would enjoy helping him out. Other than that though, he's not sure what else to think at present. |
Dangerous. Sarcast. Crazy. At least that is what Finnick picked up on when they talked. This is a person that Finnick goes out of his way to avoid, and if he has any luck at all he'll be able to keep Rue and the others in Panem away from him. He's unhinged and Finnick doesn't want to have to be pushed back into a killer's mentality to take care of him. So long as Moran stays away from those he holds close, Finnick will continue just avoiding Sebastian for all he is worth. He's not scared of Moran, but scared of the fragile peace that he and the other Victors and people from Panem will shatter if Moran strikes out. |
Soushi is adorable. At least that's as far as Finnick has been able to gather. The other seems very much a servant and if there is anything that unnerves Finnick about him it's this. However, he hasn't really spoken to him a lot, but would love to help Soushi start seeing himself in a more dominant and self assured way rather than just going along where he is tugged. Of course, something like this is easier said or thought of than done, so Finnick has decided to go slow and wants to teach the other how to act his age and just enjoy life for what it can be instead of worrying about what others think so much. |
One of the hottest women in Asgard, aside from Annie of course. Finnick enjoys talking with Natasha and has told her more about himself than even most people from Panem know. However, its because she is good at keeping secrets and seems to have issues of her own that Finnick feels so drawn towards her. She was one of the people who came to the park and swam with him when he sent out invitations, she's danced with him and talked to him. In Finnick's book that makes her an amazing person who at least humors him for whatever reason. He wants to be able to get to know her better, so he'll eventually push for more of her history too and introduce her to Annie. |
Jack is a trouble maker of the good sort. Finnick has always enjoyed giving him a hard time, and also teasing him when he can. He has grown accustomed to the fact that Jack likes to pull pranks so he goes out of his way to push his buttons by stepping around them when possible. However, if Jack ever needed help to pull a prank and asked Finnick, the other would not hesitate to help out. |
John Watson is a doctor who seems to like helping out people. This is the main reason that Finnick talks to him and asks him for help all the time. After all, with everything all the Panem kids have been through it makes sense to keep a doctor close. However, despite the other being a doctor, Finnick ended up enjoying poking fun at him. He sees John as being a little stiff and constantly likes to tease him because of it. However, it is always good natured teasing that is meant more to push his buttons only slightly. The other is way too serious, but Finnick hopes he can help John loosen up eventually. |
